We are church family that is committed to learning the story of God found in the Bible. A story that is all about the heroic work, ways and promises of Jesus. The best is yet to come.
We meet outdoors. God created this beautiful world for us to explore and enjoy with childlike wonder. We bond with our Maker and with one another as we explore the gift of his creation together.
We meet together as one big family. We often bring picnics and hot cocoa to share and build community around food and friendship. We are learning to be a family. All ages and stages doing life together in the Wilderness with Jesus.

There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing. - Alfred Wainwright.

What is Wilderness Church?  We are a community focusing on connection, simplicity and presence. In a world of screens and hurry we are trying to slow down and connect with Jesus, one another and his beautiful creation. We see in scripture that nature and homes are a primary backdrop for Jesus' teaching and ministry. We love meeting outdoors and in living rooms together. We are a family on an adventure.

What can we expect? Expect a beautiful location outdoors, some time alone in the woods or on a beach or in a meadow. There may be a campfire. Expect a short and impactful teaching from the Bible, kids exploring, food and sometimes a hike or a worship song or two.
What about kids? Kids join in on the gathering with adults. We work together as a community to incorporate kids and also give margin for adults to hear from the Lord. We feel there is much to learn from children and from sharing the opportunity and responsibility of discipling them together as a community. It can be chaotic at moments but life as a family has chaos and so does every good adventure!  Ultimately, we believe Wilderness Church gives children a remarkable opportunity to enjoy creation with family, friends and their Creator God. We pray it helps give them a life-long love of Jesus and the outdoors.
What about weather? There may be times we have to adjust but we plan on being prepared to learn how to meet outdoors for large parts of the year. During the coldest months we try to find indoor/outdoor spaces or build really big fires. We are learning to enjoy the variations of the great outdoors together. Adversity creates memories which deepens community. We believe this is church untamed. We look forward to forging friendships through shared experiences with God, nature and one another.
Count me in, how do I get involved and know where we are meeting? We are in the very beginning stages of this church adventure and are praying for God to send us fellow adventurers who want to experience a timeless way of being the church. We would love for you to join us. We update this website and our app with our next adventure, so feel free to send us a message or stop by a gathering!
